Greetings from the intern

Dear internet enthusiasts/surfers/stalkers, the cheapest in the heap and the broker than thou –

My name is Monica and I’m the new intern.  Stuart decided to get smart and hire a right hand woman to get all his leg work done. You’ll be hearing from me fairly regularly [Stuart put it as me "helping him out" with blog posts when, in reality, he's being a lazy bastard] and I’m super excited to get acquainted with the regulars, the newbies and the unknown.

Now, a little about myself. I was dreamed/theorized/concieved/raised in the sunny cluster of suburbs that is San Diego, California. An awkward girl, I had my first typewriter at the age of 5, and hid behind it for the better part of my elementary school career. After the usual middle and high school experience [full of pimples and awkwardness and, trust me, none of it was spared], I decided to head north to our lovely Jam Francisco. I had never been to the city before saying yes to moving, but thank Christ I love the place and am willing to stay just a little longer to hang out with you all. I am currently pursuing my bachelors in journalism [god, I really don't want to make any money at all, do I?] at San Francisco State and writing for a few newspapers in the Bay. I also work a small stint in the ferry building, which always loves me more than I love it. [read: free food and booze.]

I, like many of you out there, have been following Stuart since the zine days. He pointed me in the right direction of always exploring the city and never paying more than you have to. I’ve managed to save quite a few pennies, which always lend themselves to my shopping problem. But there are worse problems to have in life, right? RIGHT?

Nonetheless, I digress. I look forward to meeting and speaking with all you cool cats and sweet chicks and am more than honored [or stupid enough] to be here.

with love from the new team of one,

Monica
