Science is awesome and the Secret Science Club is awesome. How can you go wrong with a free lecture attended by people who are choosing to be there, without extra credit incentive? Tonight, Columbia University cellular neurobiologist (boner!) Ottavio Arancio will drop some knowledge about the molecular basis of memory formation. If that doesn’t get you going, you are dead…to me.
There will also be a special drink called the brain scan, which will fuck you up less than the previously favored lobotomy and electric shock therapy-tini. Q & A to follow. If I see you there, I’ll give you a high five, Top-Gun style (shown below for those of you not in the know).
When: Tonight May, 12 @ 7:30 pm
Where: The Bell House ( 149 7th Street in Brooklyn)

Dear Broke-Ass Stuart,
Does San Francisco have a Secret Science Club? Because this sounds friggin’ sweet.
I could do the leg work myself, but I am going to start by asking you first, as you posted this and are responsible for the brain salivation currently exhibiting inside of my brain.
Thanks man!

Hey MR-
You know, I’m not sure. I didn’t post the one about NY, Oliver did. He’s one of our NYC peeps.
I know that there is a monthly event in SF called Ask a Scientist though.
Do me a favor, if you do the research and come up with some good stuff, let me know and we’ll post it here on the site. Thanks!
Hey Montgomery –
I’m less lazy than Stuart. I don’t know about Secret Science Club per se, but a worthwhile thing to check out is definitely DORKBOT. I don’t know how to hyperlink shit here, but go here: http://dorkbot.org/dorkbotsf/ and read about it. If it is like here in NYC, they do it once a month, 3 speakers present projects that involve doing cool things with electricity. If you are doing something cool with electricity, you can present and promote your work.
Thanks guys!
Broke-Ass Stuart, sorry for my lame attention span in the excitement of this posting- usually pretty on the poster person shite.
Oliver, thanks for not being lazy with your fingers and stuff. Appreciate the heads up. Will check that out, even though I am currently not doing too many cool things with electricity, and am, instead, drinking vodka cocktails on Tuesday.
