It came from the Bronx and tonight it goes back!
NYC Council member Joel Rivera and Tools of War in Association w/ Rane and Serato present 2009 Crotona Park Jams, beginning tonight! It goes all summer long and kicks off with DJ Biz Markie, DJ Grand Wizzard Theodore and some special guests and is hosted by DJ GrandMaster Caz. Like anything that tries to revive early hip-hop with sets by the original DJs and MCs, this could be really wack. It’s free though, its gonna be a beautiful night and even seeing Biz Markie, Kool DJ Red Alert and Afrika Bambaataa is worth a train ride up.
If the concert sucks, make the most of being in the Bronx and follow these directions and head to The Feeding Tree in the shadow of Yankee Stadium, which has what has been repeatedly referred to as the best Jamaican food in all of New York.
