I’ve had some pretty terrible Halloweens. Working at a restaurant in the West Village (2 years in a row), getting egged while walking down 6th Avenue, running around in the cold all night trying to find the BEST PARTY EVER… Don’t let this happen to you. If you still don’t have any plans, here’s a pre-apocalyptic party event that promises to delight you with mischief and mayhem until the sun comes up!
The Last Masquerade is a multi-media, multi-level, multi-location, costume, dance, and drink party. Taking over a 114-year-old chapel (plus two other lofts near-by) in Brooklyn, at only $10 before 8:59, it looks like the party not to miss. Hosted by The Danger, this event features over three dozen artists and performers, massive dance floors, and wall-to-wall outdoor video projections. Winner of the costume contest will get their choice of: a one year supply of liquor, a $250 gift certificate to Toys in Babeland, the Mystery Box, or $250 in cash. Arrive by 8:59 to be in the competition.
Featuring: The Gamelatron by Aaron Taylor Kuffner, the Riot Temple by Ryan O’Connor, apocalyptic performance by the Lady Circus, Sam Sparro and Golden playing with the Love Grenades, Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin, Derek Plaslaiko, DJ Grimace, Small Change and the wildly rising live sound of the Subatomic Sound System, special guests DJ Collage aka Mr. Chatman, Jahdan Blakkamoore, the Falling Flowers, installation by Jen Poueymirou, wall to wall video projections by Chris Jordan, the live sound hi-jinks of the Mickey Western Band and Marygoround, fire art by the Fire Mavens, and the tightly architected techno brilliance of Derek Plaslaiko, DJ Kimyon, and Zemi 17.
