There’s only one thing I love better than bad movies, and that is cheap bad movies. Making a night of it? Well, that is just the greatest idea ever. Luckily the lovely people over at The Dark Room had the totally awesome idea of making every Sunday $5 Bad Movie Night. Totally righteous right? Sorry, I was just having a surfer-slang-off with a friend and now I can’t stop myself. Tubular. Right.

Anyway, this Sunday, as part of their summer blockbuster series, the featured film is the J.J. Abrams box office hit, “Star Trek.” I could give you my take on the flick, but the fact that J.J. Abrams gave the world Felicity, Alias, and Mission Impossible IV makes him untouchable in my book and therefore I shall sing nothing but his praises (and if you say anything bad about my boo I’ma cut you). Violence aside, this, and the rest of the awesomely “bad” weekly movies are a great way to stave off the Sunday night blues. So, as the surfers would say, shaka na na bra.*
*I’m not sure if surfers would say that.
