FREE Drinks at The Ambassador on Thursday Night!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Booze it up for free at The Ambassador! Homer not included.

Friends, I’m not gonna lie.  I’m not really into club-y, lounge-y type places.  I much prefer the dive bars that are so dark and filthy that none of the other patrons can see — literally — that I haven’t showered in days and wouldn’t give two shits if they could.  Oh, yeah.  My kind of watering hole.

But sometimes I have friends, and sometimes those friends have birthdays.  And naturally, those friends decide to celebrate those birthdays at places like The Ambassador.  And sometimes those friends end up sucking face with three different ladies and not remembering I even showed up to those birthday celebrations at a place I would never, ever venture into of my own volition.  Sometimes.

But I’m glad for these experiences, because I actually do kind of like The Ambassador now (and not just because I’m 98% sure my birthday friend contracted the herps there).  Now, don’t get me wrong — I’m not likely to head over on a Saturday night (roofie central!), but I WILL return for another birthday or, obviously, FREE booze.

Since I’m now fresh out of friends with birthdays, it’s even more exciting that FREE booze is what SF Weekly‘s Super Happy Hour is offering on Thursday night!  From 8pm – 9pm, you’ll have the chance to pound as much FREE alcohol as you can fit inside your stomach without puking!  Good thing I don’t have to work on Fridays.

Incidentally, The Ambassador has a great Tuesday happy hour — from 6pm to midnight, you can snag $2 beer, wine, well drinks and bar food.  Always looking out.

Free Drinks at SF Weekly’s Super Happy Hour at The Ambassador Thursday, August 12, 8pm – 9pm 673 Geary St. (btwn Jones & Leavenworth) [Civic Center/Tenderloin]

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
