FREE Screening of Kick Ass at The Independent

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Dudes. I’m not going to lie. It’s 5:22 in the morning and I just got home, cured of the hiccups by some girl who told me to think of a white horse. Yeah, she was shocked it worked too.

So let’s get personal: Ever been to Cinema Draft House at the Independent on a Monday night? One of your friends has? You thought about it? Maybe you went a over six months ago? I say this because I care in that special five in the morning, I smell like an ashtray and don’t smoke way–you should go.

I would suggest showing up early. Especially for a popular movie like Kick-Ass. Screening is at 8pm, so show up yesterday at 2pm. Orrrrr.. at least 7pm, same day , but that still might be a little late. First come, first serve for the best seats. The Independent sets up fancy table seating and even provides popcorn. And all they ask is that you buy two drinks. Hungry? Bring in some Little Star from down the street or that leftover crock pot surprise your roommate made. They don’t care. And for that I say, drink up, tip your bartender, and have an amazing Monday night watching the bad guys get the shit kicked out of them. You are welcome. And goodnight. Er, good morning. Whatever.

Jessica was born, moved around a lot and has an odd dialect to prove it (see: hella, bubbler, and cawfee), and is now precariously settled in SF. Despite graduating high school too many years ago to count, she was crowned Prom Queen this summer and considers her life complete now. Last year her production editing job was outsourced to the Philippines. Hope they like it. Luckily for you, this Lady of Leisure is currently accepting applications for the position of Wealthy Benefactor.
