$1 Falafel at Cinderella

A little while back I posted about $1 slices, which, although a good deal, became a rather monotonous regime. Enter Cinderella and their $1 falafel, where you can watch the newest videos for world music’s biggest stars on the flatscreen that cost more than their tables and chairs. But, it’s a nice distraction from the walls – green and yellow brick on the north and the pink, orange, and natural wood on the south – that  were chosen by a unicorn. At least they complement the the ice cream for sale up front. If the laminated sheets explaining basic fare like shwarma, baklava, and kebabs didn’t tip you off the $1 falafel will – this is NOT Bedouin Tent. However, in my (drunk) book, a falafel for under $3 dollars is a deal and when I can pay for anything with a $1 bill I feel a satisfaction that stems from my core. If you don’t have Spartan taste buds, just upgrade the damn thing to a “super”. Feeling especially baroque? Upgrade again to the “Cinderella” and try not to drip on your petticoat breeches, Fancy Pants.

Cinderella is at 129 Second Ave. @ St. Marks (8th St.)

I saw that sandwich board the other day and I was sceptical, I upgraded to the Cinderella. Skip the baklava, it was dry and sad, not gooey and oozing with honey as it should be.
