Hard at Work

Hard at Work

It is supposed to be pretty cruddy today, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying to weather the weather at the 2nd annual dance parade.  But in case you don’t want to go outside and be reminded of how self-conscious you are, here are some indoor activities that are pretty sweet for the early portion of your Saturday night.

Guggenheim “Pay-What-You-Wish” Saturdays

Previously held on Fridays, you can now visit the Gugg for its extended hours on Saturday from 5:15 – 7:45 pm.

The Guggenheim is located @ 1071 Fifth Avenue (at 89th Street)

Spike Lee Documentary Kobe Doin’ Work

It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this year and is tonight at 8 pm will be shown on ESPN commerical free.  This is not a rumination on the concept of work.  It does not address celebrity, sports culture, or musings on “worth”, “value”, conceptualizations of “labor”.  It is a film of Kobe Bryant, that used 30 cameras to follow him for the entirety of one evening playing basketball, with his commentary that was recorded months afterward.   For a camera-less recording of a discussion with Spike Lee,  go here.
