Crazy Cheap Martinis at the Cliff House

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

It doesn't actually look like that anymore.

I’m pretty sure everyone in SF knows where and what the Cliff House is – that art deco building out on the far point of the city over looking the Ocean and the ruins of the Sutro Baths. But being the cheapass that I am, I’ve never eaten there because places with such nice picture windows tend to serve very expensive food. (Plus, there’s a great little greasy spoon about 100 yards away.)

But I just noticed this crazy $3 Martini deal over on OnlyinSanFrancisco.com that might make me rethink my stance on the Cliff House. For $3 bucks a pop you can put back Skyy or Tanqueray martinis from 6-9pm on any Sunday – Thursday evening until the end of March. That’s cheaper than the admission to the Camera Obscura. (Which is also awesome, by the way.) For prices that low, you can probably afford to pay for your date, which you should have because it doesn’t really seem like the kind of place you go to drink alone.

$3 Skyy Vodka or Tanqueray Gin Martinis
Cliff House
1090 Point Lobos [Outer Richmond/Sea Cliff]
Sunday – Thursday 6-9pm
Until March 31st

Andrew is an East Coast transplant from Virginia hamming it up in San Francisco without any intention of leaving. Having worked every typical job from Bike Shop Employee to Bartender to Ad Agency Hotshot, to Dotcom Layoff he now busts his ass covering the "weird things to do" beat for gracious local audiences at SFAppeal.com and rallies the Western Addy/Lower Haight/Panhandle neighborhoods into action at AggressivePanhandler.com. His work was published in a real, paper magazine one time. One day he might even figure out how to make money from it.
