Wednesdays: FREE Wine And Vodka Tasting In Brooklyn

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news
DOC Shop

divine

I am used to drinking cheap wine.  As a broke ass person, I have developed a taste for the '˜young’, the '˜unheard of’, '˜unwanted’ and '˜fell-off-the-back-of-a-truck’ vintages.  So what a religious experience when I get to taste some truly delicious wines, for FREE!  Every Wednesday night from 6-9 pm head to the DOC Wine shop in Williamsburg for a tasting from their amazing selection.  This week get a double whammy of warmth when Erna from Baron Francois and Efran from IS vodka host some vintages of their own.

From the gods behind DOC Wine Bar (in Williamsburg) the shop may be most appealing wine store you will ever enter.  If you are anything like me you may be tempted to try to live here.  With a beautiful chandelier and discarded relics from churches as furnishings, the décor encourages you to really spend some time in contemplation. Feel free to ask for advice from or unburden yourself to the experienced and flirtatious sales staff.   You won’t get in trouble if they catch you kneeling at the vintage altarpiece to spontaneously give thanks to Dionysus for this miraculous site'it must happen all the time.  Make sure you get on the mailing list to get updated schedules of events and enter to win FREE bottles of Brunello.  The shop also sells wine accessories and hosts a series of in-depth wine classes.  Alleluia.

Christine Witmer - Sparing Stringer

Christine was born and raised in the land of the Pilgrims, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She turned in her buckled shoes when she moved to NYC to attend NYU. From that esteemed University she received her BFA in theatre as well as a Master's Degree in Performance Studies in 2004.
Now an actor, writer and broke ass day-jobber, Christine juggles her many personas with the elegance of a red panda. specifically the one in the Prospect Park Zoo . . . soooooo cute! She can be found most often in her own habitat on the Northside of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
