So you like street food with your dirty house music? Lucky for you every fourth Thursday of the month, The Lookout hosts Dirty Dishes, a night devoted to “hot beats, tasty eats and cool peeps.” While I definitely appreciate some good “indie electro/future bass” DJ action once in a while, and I’m sure DJs B-Haul, Poolboy and Gordon Gartrell are gonna tear it up, I think the appeal of this event, the thing that will really get my ass off the couch and into the Castro on a Thursday night, is that there’s gonna be three food carts. IN ONE PLACE. It’s beyond worth the $2 cover to not be yet again wandering the streets of the Mission hunting in vain for the goddamn creme brulee cart (and yes, I realize you can check their Twitter page to find the cart, but some of us own not an iPhone, but a Samsung SPH-A640 flip phone with no internet capabilities and therefore must conduct this search aided only by intuition and the motivation that is borne from extreme hunger).
In addition to the creme brulee cart, the lumpia cart, with its Filipino-style egg rolls, and the magic curry kart will also be bringing the deliciousness. This food, needless to say, is CHEAP, which means you’ll probably be left with a couple extra bucks in your pocket, enabling you to enjoy your eats along with an alcoholic beverage. We all know food tastes best that way.Dirty Dishes @ The Lookout Thursday, March 25, 9pm 3600 16th St. [Castro] $2
