No, You Quizz Off: Trivia Night at Pete’s Candy Store

I am perfectly aware that Pat Sajak can out charisma Alex Trebek by simply batting his eyes or trimming a hang nail, but I will always prefer Jeopardy to Wheel of Fortune. I have many reasons: Jeopardy attracts fewer over-zealous clappers and never feels like a prolonged IHOP, Centrum Silver or Eggland’s Best commercial. I also have an unquenchable desire to load my brain with the most inapplicable facts possible. But most importantly, Jeopardy is more fun to yell at while watching. I mean, would you rather yell “Getting Comfortable” or “Elizabeth Barrett Browning” at your TV set?

If your answer was the Victorian poet who like to sit in the dark, then you should be all over The Quizz Off at Pete’s Candy Store. Each week, they have a FREE, six-round team trivia game to test your knowledge of general subjects, music, top tens, etc. I wouldn’t recommend yelling the answers across the bar like you’re watching a game show at home, unless you want the other teams to snag the $25 bar tab and temporary bragging rights. And if you’re more of the Wheel of Fortune type, Pete’s still does their adult spelling bee every other Monday night.

Kiley E - Ragamuffin Researcher

After years of denial, Kiley has finally admitted to baring a striking resemblance to Velma from Scooby Doo. Instead of traveling in a van hunting ghosts, she prefers wandering on foot in search of tacos, cheap beer, and fake birds. Growing up in Portland, Kiley enjoyed the balance of urban and green spaces. Then she spent her four years at Ithaca College, and found herself craving more sprawling asphalt in her life. So she moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where most of the buildings look like they're about to collapse. Kiley's favorite activities include: getting lost, crafting, sewing, biking, and geeking out at museums. Her love of taxidermy probably makes her a terrible vegetarian, but she doesn't care.
