Yep, it sounds too good to be true. But it ain’t.
Bailout Theater – which will feature the comedic stylings of Isaac Oliver and friends, a “Deliverance”-esque banjo performance by the talented Alex Mallett, and a verifiable smorgasbord of local delicacies (as well as questionable dishes brought to you by potluck aficionados) – goes down tonight… all in the name J.C.
All right, maybe it’s not exactly in the name of His High Holiness, but it is at His house. Close enough, right? Makes sense to me. Because as my Mom-Mom would say, “Jesus is the ghost-ess with the most-ess.” Love that woman!
Dinner and dessert will be provided by Village mainstays John’s Pizza, Hummus Place and NoHo Juice Bar, while homemade culinary “experiences” will be made available courtesy of the cat lady up the street. Proceed with caution, but do try the brownies. Trust me on this one. No, really – truuuust me. (Don’t worry about the repercussions. All will be forgiven. And if it’s not, at least you don’t have to travel far to repent.)
If you’re so inclined, you can provide your own offerings too. This is a recession event, after all. Nobody’s gonna turn away your poorly prepared ambrosia. They probably won’t eat it either – but at least they’ll be gracious.
As Dionne Warwick would warble, that’s what (new) friends are for.
