Taam-Tov: Glatt Kosher Jewish-Uzbek Food

The best part is the guy on the street wearing the Taam-Tov sign.

While not the absolute cheapest place in the world I was so intrigued by the fact that it’s Glatt Kosher Jewish-Uzbek food, that I couldn’t say no. Only in New York (well maybe Uzbekistan too). I got a meat pie for $2.50 and a shish kebab for $5, and to be completely honest with you, they were fucking delectable. Their specialties here are all around $10 and it’s stuff like Uzbek pilaf, which sounds a lot like Edith Piaf to me. The strange part though was that amongst the photo of the Rebbe and the signs that say, “We do Shabbas Catering”, were a fair amount of Japanese decorations. I’d love to see Hasidic Jews rolling sushi. Doesn’t that sound like something from a Mel Brooks movie?
