Late Night Booze ‘n’ Food Specials at Cabrito

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I’m about to share what, in my estimation, is the greatest happy hour in this city. I know! I have no idea what you did to deserve this either. No matter, though – let’s get in there.

Cabrito, which is Spanish for baby goat, is owned by the same people behind Fatty Crab and Fatty ‘Cue and it shows: the food there is ambitious and spicy and so very delicious. There are also a few unique and worth-the-price cocktails as well as a full tequila bar.

I want that.

But if you stop in between the magical hours of 4-7 pm during the week or 11 pm – 2 am on the weekends (!), all of this glory can be had for not more than a fistful of cash. Eight bucks will get you “Mexican Advil,” which is a shot of El Jimador Reposado Tequila and a Tecate. If you are broker than that, feel free to indulge in a Dos Equis draft for $3. Cabrito’s excellent margaritas are half what they would usually run, and there are food specials too: tasty tacos made out of tongue or pork belly for $3 each and churros and chocolate for $5 are prime examples. I’ll take six.

Polina Yamshchikov - Flirt Poor

Polina is Siberian by way of Alabama, and therefore cannot pronounce "fire" or "iron" correctly but despite this can still woo men with her cooking skills and enormous Russian cheeks. She can usually be spotted on the streets of Brooklyn either yelling into a cell phone in one of five languages or swilling gin at an inappropriate hour of the morning.
