If Etsy Were a Real Place: Renegade Craft Fair this weekend at Fort Mason

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Since it’s 2010 and you seem like a reasonable person who likes to buy nicely made, unique things for a low price, you probably already know what Etsy is and have probably also spent far too much time at work looking for the cleverest Mother’s Day gift ever. Well, if you ever wondered what Etsy would be like if it were more like a shopping mall or a roadside flea market, then you’ll probably enjoy spending part of your weekend strolling the miles of aisles at the Renegade Craft Fair going on at Fort Mason this weekend.

This year marks the Fair’s third year in SF, and as always admission is totally FREE, so you’re welcome to leisurely peruse the wares from over 200 artists, designers and otherwise crafty people. On top of all that, there will be craft workshops, DJs, marching bands, food & drink, raffles, and a free photobooth in case you need a twee new Facebook profile photo.

Andrew Dalton - Aggressive Panhandler

Andrew is an East Coast transplant from Virginia hamming it up in San Francisco without any intention of leaving. Having worked every typical job from Bike Shop Employee to Bartender to Ad Agency Hotshot, to Dotcom Layoff he now busts his ass covering the "weird things to do" beat for gracious local audiences at SFAppeal.com and rallies the Western Addy/Lower Haight/Panhandle neighborhoods into action at AggressivePanhandler.com. His work was published in a real, paper magazine one time. One day he might even figure out how to make money from it.
