As human existence goes on, I’m continually fascinated by the objects people put into vending machines. Candy bars, hot sandwiches, coffee, ice cream bars delivered by vacuum tubes, used women’s underwear, iPods, etc. But Traif Bike Gesheft’s shop installed a vending machine that sells bike parts, and I’m willing to call it the most useful vending machine ever. So if it’s 3am and you need a tube, brake pads, patch kit, pump, handle bar tape, or any other smaller part, you can scrape up some quarters instead of walking your bike home.
Besides helping out riders in a pinch, the bike shop is also the hosts free bike workshops by Time’s Up. Who throw awesome parties for environmental causes and one of the city’s greatest resources for cyclists.
