Flipper's -- more than insanely delicious burgers

When most people think of Flipper’s, A Gourmet Hamburger Place, I’m betting they probably think of burgers.  While it’s true that the menu at Flipper’s features almost 20 different kinds of burgers, it’s actually more like a Squat & Gobble-type restaurant offering everything from salad to crepes to falafel platters.

Now, the prices here are pretty standard for a Hayes Valley eatery, meaning not cheap enough to normally write about, but not triple dollar signs on Yelp either.  However, there is one thing that makes Flipper’s stand out to a broke-ass:  The Weekday Breakfast Special.  Monday through Friday from 7am-11am, it’s a mere $3.99 for two eggs, potatoes, and toast.  While that’s a hearty breakfast in itself, if the carnivore in you just can’t do the most important meal of the day sans meat, you can add ham, bacon or sausage for $1 extra.  See, super cheap and you can stop by on your way to work or your day off or something.  Any excuse to leave the house with a fiver in your pocket and come back with a mega full belly, right?

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
