The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I will bang anything in tight pants and a wig.

Yes! Finally, a reason to bust out your gold platforms and that wonderfully ugly, skin-tight polyester dress that’s been hidden in the back of your closet forever. Or maybe that mohair cat-suit you always knew would come in handy? Whatever you choose, dress to impress this Thursday night at the 70s and 80s Glam Rock Costume Contest, Glamtastica. The winner will enjoy bottle service for four, and the opportunity to strut their stuff while Davie Bowie belts out “Faaaame.” The price is $10 after 10pm, so be sure to RSVP to the link: http://www.metrowize.com/mw008, for FREE entry and FREE drinks from 9-10pm.

Glamtastica is part of “MW008” which is hosted by Metrowize, an online guide to music, food, nightlife and culture (present in six US cities as well as Singapore). Go-Go dancers and the Future Universal DJ Collective will be playing your favorite glitzy jams. Dance the night away to music from the likes of Gary Glitter, T-Rex, Alice Cooper and the New York Dolls, with a live performance by local-Indie-electroclash-band, Aurora Activity Pony (listen to them here: Tragic Kingdom by Aurora Activity Pony), at 11pm. The costume contest starts at 12am sharp – so pull up your vinyl pants and don’t be late!
