The Zombie Hut and Why Everything’s More Fun with Fire

Desperate times call for desperate measures. We are solidly into April, ie spring, but my winter coat is still on and my skin is still an “indoor kid” shade of pale. So off I go to where a lei and drink shots that have been lit on fire even though that kinds of frightens me at the endless summer fantasy land that is Zombie Hut.

I will share over-sized, brightly-hued, highly-alcoholic drinks like the Frozen Zombie with my friends, then wonder why I am sick. I will also slurp down a Gilligan–4 parts alcohol and 1 part OJ–and wonder why I tried to arm wrestle a stranger. I will then find a Connect Four game piece in my pocket and remember it’s because we were playing one of the bar’s awesome boardgames and I am a very sore loser.

There are no beers on tap, but there are around 15 bottled to choose from and of course, the ever-present $2 PBR. In the summer–which I hear is coming soon!–the comfortable back patio is the place to be. Until then, I’ll close my eyes, warm up next to the bar’s fireplace, and take another shot of fire.
