Sammy’s On 2nd: Full Service Deli

Got a hankering for a monstrous sandwich? Got a broke-ass party that needs catering? Fresh out of Hennessy? Sammy’s on 2nd can solve all of your problems.

Sammy’s is, for all intents and purposes, a full service deli. First and foremost, Sammy’s is a deli that serves up everything from cheap Mediterranean plates to good old fashioned sandos. My personal favorite is the BFS (Big Fat Sandwich) on sourdough. It’s a nightmare of a sandwich equipped with your choice of three types of meats, two types of cheese, and anything else you would like to add. If you need food in bulk, delivery is also an option. The remainder of Sammy’s bears a striking resemblance to any other run of the mill liquor store with wine, beer, and the like. For more information, check them out here.

If you decide Sammy’s is a place you would like to frequent, ask about their Frequent Buyer Program. You will be handed a flimsy paper card. Flash that each time you purchase a sandwich and upon your ninth, you will receive the tenth FREE.

When all is said and done, everything on the menu is less than eight bucks. (The last few times I’ve been here I haven’t been charged tax.) When you drop by say hello to Sammy, he’ll remember your name!

Chris hails from Ventura, California. He was formally educated at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. While he has no (professional) writing experience he hopes one day to be compensated for his written contributions. Chris likes whiskey, burritos, cheap beer, and mediocre Thai food. He is continually searching for great dive bars.
