Cheap Buns at Cherry Blossom Bakery

On my way to work this morning, my carpool stopped at Cherry Blossom Bakery on Clement. Welcome to Heaven is what the place should be called. I think the quote of the day came from my roommate, Celise, when she said with a wide-eyed grin, “I never thought I could get so full for under $1!”

The sweet smell of fresh buns wafted out the door. Once inside, there are so many pastries to choose from, it is hard to decide. And get this, you can get most of ’em for just 95 cents! Choose from sweet snacks like the coconut-pineapple bun to savory scrumptousness like the fried pork and scallion buns. Or get the best of both worlds, and order a ham and cheese bun complimented by a taro bun for breakfast dessert. Considering you can basically get two pastries and a coffee for less than $3 – go ahead and splurge. You may even want to grab an extra one for later…

Cherry Blossom Bakery is obviously the place to be, since it was packed with local Chinese customers. Everything was fresh out of the oven, the only drawback is that these buns are probably not diet-friendly. What the hell, you only live once, right?  Good, ’cause I’ve already stopped  counting calories…and I’m not going to admit how many greasy pastries I ate either…
