DIY Sunglass Storage

So, a few weeks ago we covered ways to spruce up yer summertime specs. But now what do you do with your new and improved shades – you can’t just leave them lying around to get borrowed/broken/stolen/stepped on etc. and throwing them into a purse or onto any old surface is a surefire way to scratched lenses and a need for a glue gun. Not to fret guys and dolls, I have several incredibly cheap and easy options for you!
A ridiculously simple idea (that I’m currently rocking myself) is a clothes hanger, like this:

That’s not even A whole step! And clothes hangers are like bunnies: they multiple and pop up all over the place. If that’s a little plain for your place, consider pinning a ribbon to the wall, a la:

Another great option is to re-purpose a mitten as a holder – you can add buttons, or a closure (snap, button, zipper…) – which works great for carrying your sunglasses around in a purse.

If you’re willing or able to get a thread and needle involved, you can sew together a quick case using embroidery floss and felt, or a scarf and ribbon.

There are more traditional fabric versions too. Heck, there are even goth versions.
If you have a case but it’s ugly as sin, then praise the lord and pass the glue gun.

Grab drawer pulls, buttons, studs; and some bolt cutters, drill and wrench and you can piece together your custom miniaudiere. Sunglass problem, solved. Gotta love that.
