The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players Are Back TONIGHT!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players aren’t your typical family band that performs songs based on slides of strangers they’ve found in garage sales and beyond. They are also one of the few bands lucky enough to say they’ve performed on Late Night TV (Late Night with Conan O’ Brien) and have had a documentary made about them out in which they’re heralded by Time Out New York, Pitchfork and more.

Okay, so they’re probably the only family band that can say they’ve done all of these things, but that’s exactly why you should check them out tonight at Bar Matchless. After a few years hiatus, the Players are back and gearing up to promote their just-released new album, Lost and Found.

Bands The Well Informed and Turner Cody are also on the bill, all part of a new series called “Campari Soda Presents” so hopefully that means there will be some Campari drink specials as well. Tonight’s also Ladies Night at Matchless, aka $4 well drinks until 2am for the Ladies.. $6 pint of Bud and a shot all night for everyone !

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
