Booty Bounce Bungalow Tonight at Public Works

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

For many of us, tonight marks the first night of a four-day-weekend. And not just any weekend, might I ad, but  probably the biggest weekend of the year. Start saying your goodbyes to 2011 tonight, Thursday, December 29, at Public Works. Join in for  the premier of a new monthly night called Booty Bounce Bungalow.

The party features Boylan (Ghetto Teknitianz, Chicago), a 33-year-old producer who creates his own ghetto house style. He explains it like this: “I am kind of A.D.D. with where I sample from. I might have just watched a western or heard ‘rhythm is a dancer’ on the radio and then BANG off to chop them into bits. I like to draw samples from soul, funk, disco and house tracks mainly. I think what differentiates my sound from other producers is that I do my own thing.”

The event starts at 9 p.m. and goes until 3 a.m. Entrance is $10, but check the Eventbrite link below to see if you can score discounted tickets. Booty Bounce Bungalow will be a perfect way to jump start your New Year’s weekend. Other DJs will be there to warm you up, including: Sleazemore (Lights Down Low), Kid Kameleon (Surya Dub), Buttersauce (Booty Bouncerz), Britso (Booty Bouncerz), Lobie (Creative Precision).
