FREE Market to Table Cooking Lessons

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Sure, six days a week I’m eating a burrito for dinner. But any other day, I want my food fresh. I like the raw feeling of making something out of real vegetables with the scent of dirt still on them.

Getting FREE cooking lessons from the people who literally wrote the book on how to do it is even better.

I’m talking about Market to Table cooking lessons are FREE at Book Passage in the Ferry Building.

On select Saturday mornings at Book Passage in the ferry building you can catch chefs and cookbook authors teaching FREE cooking demos with seasonal foods you’ll find in nearby farmers markets in the CUESA kitchen. And yes, there are free samples.

On Saturday, September 8, Cheryl Sternman, she of the 5 Second Rule blog that serves up a sweet story with every recipe. She’s also the author of a book called Ripe, which is not about what your shirt smells like at the end of the weekend. It’s Ripe: A Fresh, Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables, and it will be on sale at the demo.

This way, you’ll know what to do with all those veggies you get at the Really, Really Free Market in the Mission on that day when you just don’t really feel like a burrito. Or at least don’t feel like eating one.
