The Dirty Details: Check Out Photos of the 2013 Bar Workers Ball!

Well drunkies, another year hath past, and once more the city’s fantastic finest descended upon the dusky floorboards of Café Du Nord for the 8th Annual San Francisco Mid-Winter Bar Workers Ball. Powerful tipples were provided courtesy of our co-sponsor 7×7 and Beam Global (with lots of free grub from Du Nord’s kitchen) as every gin slinger from the Marina to Visitación Valley tumbled in and ponied up in the their dandiest threads and hobnobbed with their brethren from across town.



The contests were spectacular feats of insanity, as per usual, presided over by our illustrious panel of judges Katy St. Clair, Marke B., Riley Manlapaz and the Editor-In-Cheap, himself, Broke-Ass Stuart. Marrying the train wrecks together and soothing the savage beasts were the beautiful princes of sound that evening, Sonny Phono, Bus Station John and Sergio Fedasz.

Stephen Torres - Threadbare-Fact Finder (Editor, San Francisco)

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inabilty to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for people like the SF Bay Guardian. He also likes to enoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
