FREE Screening of a Half The Sky a Film About Global Women’s Issues
In honor of Women’s History Month the SF Bay Guardian and the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center are sponsoring a screening of Half the Sky at Artists’ Television Access this Monday March 25th. It’s a rad film about global women’s issues and is based on a book by Pulitzer Prize winning (he has two!) journalist Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, and voyages across 10 countries talking to women.
Afterwards the Caitlin Donohue, culture editor for the Guardian, will be moderating a discussion about the film and women’s issues. This will be a good chance for people to sit down and have a meaningful conversation about violence against women especially in light of what’s happened recently in Steubenville and the ridiculousness of the way the media handled it.
Come at 6:30 for cash bar and a chance to network with other conscious citizenry, and to drink duh.
THE EVENT IS TOTALLY FREE but RSVP to guarantee a spot, cuz ATA is indie and cute and has limited seating: http://tinyurl.com/halftheskyscreening
