Just in time for the heat wave, some civic-minded individual hauled a functioning upright piano to the  top of Bernal Hill. I was just there, and it fucking rules. What was most remarkable about the experience was the fact that everyone up there seemed to know how to play piano really well (excluding myself). From Ragtime to Mozart,  people just kept pumping out the hits. It was surreal, and I strongly suggest you get up there before the fun’s over–most likely the next time it rains. Here’s some photographic evidence:

She was “playing the room” with some old-timey tunes and then went into some light classical.

This broskie hopped up and pulled a Mozart out of his hat like he was expecting the thing to be there (which he wasn’t).

That’s me, tricking my girlfriend that I know how to play the piano by smashing a random assortment of notes from the blues scale. We all had fun!

So anyhow, get your ass over to Bernal Heights this weekend–it’s supposed to be a scorcher–and bring your virtuoso friends. It’s a party up there.
