NFL football is back and every Sunday is a now holy day of obligation to hit bars and watch games. Ten hours watching nonstop live football in a dark, cavernous sports bar is perhaps the finest possible way to spend a beautiful Bay Area autumn Sunday, but that bar tab can end up running you more than a season’s subscription to satellite TV. With this in mind, we’ve set out to find the very cheapest San Francisco sports bars that carry all the out-of-market NFL games on Sundays, and we’ve ranked them by cheapness-of-drink-prices below.

If you know of anything cheaper, please let us know in the comments! This list is a living document and will be updated as necessary. We’re shooting for the most exhaustive list of cheap-ass places to drink and watch your NFL games on Sunday, because that way we all get drunker for cheaper which is one of the founding principles of this fine website.

But there are certain strict criteria for inclusion on this list. 1) The bar must open by or before 10 a.m. PDT on a Sunday for kick-off of the early East Coast games. 2) The bar must provide all NFL games which means they need to carry the NFL Sunday Ticket package and have no fewer than 7 different screens to broadcast the full load of early games. 500 Club, for instance, has wonderfully cheap drinks but only 5 screens. That’s not all NFL games. 3) The bar must offer Sunday drink specials under $5.

So using a formula in which we average the price of a bar’s cheapest draft beer with the price of it’s cheapest well drink and then give bonus points for additional drink specials, here are your cheapest San Francisco sports bars carrying all NFL games on Sundays.

1. Red Jack Saloon (131 Bay St. @ Stockton)

By my highly unscientific calculations, the single cheapest sports bar providing every Sunday NFL game is some Fisherman’s Wharf dive called Red Jack Saloon, “a Boston bar with a Redskins problem”.

From the 10 a.m. kickoff til the late game ends around 9 p.m., they’re serving $2 pints of Bud Light, $4 well drinks and $6 pints of Bloody Mary. They’ve also got a Ms. Pac-Man machine on the premises.

2. Dolores Corner (1600 Dolores @ 29th St)

Technically the only bar on all of Dolores St.!

Dolores Corner has $2 pints of PBR, $5 well drinks and a $14 all-day Sunday bottomless mimosa.

Yes, ‘$14 all-day Sunday bottomless mimosa’ means exactly what it sounds like it means. But you really should consider tipping well if you’re gonna make them refill it that many times.

3. Green’s Sports Bar (2239 Polk St. @ Green)

Green’s Sports Bar in Russian Hill is a motherfucking one-of-a-kind. They have 28 different screens, each of which can play a different sporting event from somewhere in the world.

The ambiance is pretty much like a frathouse, but draft pints of Bud Light and something called Shock Top are $3. Buckets of Bud and Bud Light are $18. Buckets! Just like it was college! That is 6 beers for $18, which is still $3 per beer.

4. Martin Mack’s (1568 Haight St. @ Clayton St.)

Haight Street gastropub Martin Mack’s offers $3 PBR pints, $4 draft pints and $5 well drinks. Finding seating is more difficult in the early season, though, as the Euro 2016 qualifiers conflict with NFL football and a lot of those international soccer motherfuckers like to hang out at Martin Mack’s.

5. Kilowatt (3160 16th St. @ Valencia St.)

Having just celebrated their 20th anniversary, The Kilowatt charges into its 21st NFL season with $4 pints, $4 well drinks and a contingent of 3-5 fans representing nearly every NFL team. Even the fucking Bills and Jaguars have a smattering of fans to root them on at The Kilowatt each week.

6. Blackthorn (834 Irving @ 10th Ave.)

blackthorn

Sunset and Avenues people, we have not forgotten you! Blackthorn is your Sunset sports bar that opens early on NFL Sunday. The well drinks are a whopping $6, but draft pints are available all day for $4.
