Here is something pretty exciting! This is the unseen San Francisco pilot of my TV show Young, Broke & Beautiful. This was the a sizzle reel we made for IFC and it was this that they saw and gave us a green light for.  It’s OBVIOUSLY a bit rougher than the show that aired on IFC.

We shot this in early 2010. SF was a different place then and it felt more magical, or maybe that’s just nostalgic hindsight. Regardless we have former Poet Laureate Jack Hirschman telling us about being a street poet in San Francisco and why he fled New York. We have legendary trans performer Vicki Marlane telling us about working in traveling circus sideshows, and we have Gooferman and the Vau de Vire Society doing wonderful circus performances. It taps into how strange and beautiful San Francisco was a few years back…and maybe still is if you look in the right places.
