$10 All-You-Can-Drink Beer From SF Weekly Tonight — For a Good Cause!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Widmer...Portland's finest!

Usually the only “cause” I’m drinking for is be “cause” (get it, assholes?) it’s Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.  And that’s what I do.  But I’m also all for using my borderline alcoholism to help a good cause, like the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Bay Area.  It’s a great idea, because when have kids and alcohol NOT mixed well together?

Don’t worry — there won’t be any kids at The Irish Bank tonight — there’s just going to take all your money.  But listen to this steal — for 10 bucks, you’ll get all-you-can-drink Widmer Drifter and Hefeweizen for two hours, 5:30pm-7:30pm.  In case this isn’t registering, normally a happy-hour pint of Widmer is, like, $5.  This is going to be a drunken free-for-all (when is it not at The Irish Bank, right, gingers?), but at the end of the night when you trip your way onto the bus to head home, at least you can tell yourself you did it for the kids.  And for your dwindling cash flow.  But definitely mostly for the kids.

$10 All-You-Can-Drink Widmer at The Irish Bank Bar & Restaurant (Benefiting the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Bay Area) Wednesday, August 25, 5:30pm-7:30pm 10 Mark Lane (btwn Harlan & Bush) [Union Square]

Christy Jovanelly - Cheapskate Commentator

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
