Gruff Rhys and Eleanor Friedberger Tonight at Rockwood Music Hall

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

In case your morning began with this shudder-inducing  video of a rat crawling on a sleeping man in the subway like mine did, you better do something awesome tonight to justify living here to yourself once again. Fortunately, Super Furry Animals frontman/awesome documentary maker Gruff Rhys (pronounced Griff Rees) and Fiery Furnaces frontwoman Eleanor Friedberger have teamed up to give you just that tonight at Rockwood Music Hall.

While both of their bands have a penchant for the experimental, tonight’s rare solo performances should be a more soothing set thanks to Rockwood’s incredibly intimate “I’m sorry if you have to cough because everyone is going to stare at you if you do” setup. Both will preview brand-new material from their forthcoming solo albums. One Friedberger with Rhys, please!
