Workshop is throwing Etsy a Birthday Craft Extravaganza!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

The internet is out at my house (because for some reason AT&T insists on turning it off, so they can turn it back on again. Why? Who bloody knows?), which means I’ve been spending a lot of time getting things done. Actual things in my actual life, like reading and writing letters and laundry.

Since I can’t spend all Friday night streaming TV on Hulu, as is my custom, I plan on hauling myself over to Workshop (or, as I like to call it, the Best Thing to Happen to Baker & McAllister Ever) for Etsy’s Anniversary Crafty Extravaganza.

Etsy has teamed up with Ready Made and Meetups Everywhere to launch a global initiative of craft parties across several cities and continents. Part Etsy-birthday celebration, part meet-and-greet, there are parties being planned everywhere from Portland, OR to Texas, from Mexico and Canada to Egypt, Turkey and Romania. So even if you’re not SF-located, you should be able to find a nearby party. (Don’t fret, of course there’s one planned in Brooklyn).

A measly $5 cover gets you beer and a crafty kit '“ Etsy will be bringing embroidery, plushie supplies, hat-making stuffs, beads, etc. There will also be music, giveaways and (I’d bet) plenty of cute, crafty kids to flirt with. Come join us! It’s gonna be craft-acular!
