These are the sorts of possible purchases savvy booklovers can make at the annual Park Slope UMC Book Sale.
The once-a-year sale offers a chance to pick through tens of thousands of used books, CDs, DVDs, videos and records. It’s free to the public from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Feb. 23 and from 12:30 to 5 pm on Sunday, Feb. 24. For the second year, organizers are offering the most passionate book lovers a chance to buy books at a preview sale on Friday night from 7-9:30 pm for a $20 donation.
The sale (one of the 100 best reasons that Park Slope is “a special place to live” according one Brooklyn blog) allows browsers to peruse thousands and thousands of new and used books, perfect for all ages and interests, sorted by genre, and marked to sell at ridiculously rock bottom prices. From contemporary bestsellers to classics of the literary canon, from self-help to how-to, you’ll find it at Brooklyn’s largest winter book sale. There is an entire room devoted to children’s books, puzzles, and games—incredible bargains for the whole family!
In addition to the huge selection of new & used books that can be found for $1 (hardcovers are $2), the PSUMC BOOK & MEDIA FAIR offers records, CDs, DVDs & videos, as well as children’s books, puzzles & games—
