Chronicle Books is pleased to announce the opening of its third retail store in the newly designed Metreon next Thurs. March 8th. Founded in 1967, the San Francisco based publisher has developed a reputation for award-winning and innovative books. With two other locations in San Francisco – one on Union Street and the other at their headquarters on 2nd Street – Chronicle is excited to be one of only nine new retailers included in the $30 million dollar Metreon renovation.

We invite you to celebrate with us, hope to see you there!

About The Chronicle Books Store

  • Designed by renowned architecture firm Aidlin Darling Design, winners of the James Beard restaurant design award for Bar Agricole. Other local projects for the firm include Emeryville Center for the Arts, Wexler’s Restaurant, and Bar Bambino.
  • Mirroring the Metreon’s innovative “inside out” design, the Chronicle Books store will be merchandised with colorful displays and signage inspired by their publishing, and a dedicated space for author events. Alongside the books, a video panel will promote Chronicle’s new digital e-book and app offerings.
  • This new location represents a tangible expression of the Chronicle Books brand and award-winning aesthetic, while also positioning Chronicle as one of only two bookstores in the downtown core.
