There are two types of rats in New York City—the ones that scurry around the subway tracks and the ones that fly and carry fungal diseases in their feces. Pigeons, on the other hand, are lovely birds that travel in flocks and then return to their owners on rooftops throughout the boroughs. Tonight, you can see a free documentary about some Brooklyn pigeon keepers, as part of the India Street Mural Project. The project launched in May when local artists painted murals on a soon-to-be demolished building in Greenpoint. The screening also includes a documentary about factories in New York, because the converted warehouses in area made stuff like belts and fireworks before they were lofts. Both documentaries are getting projected onto the murals, and the screening is completely FREE.
