Unless you’re Wayne or Garth and you have a green screen in your new studio, then you have to rely on pop culture to take you to the places you’ll never visit. Instead of waiting for Sufjan Stevens to finish an album about each of the 50 states, you can drag your brokeass to Book Court in Boerum Hill on Thursday to hear Sean Wilsey and Matt Weiland read from their book State by State. The book is a collection of pieces by 50 different authors about a state. Contributors include Anthony Bourdain (New Jersey), Susan Orlean (Ohio), Dave Eggers (Illinois), Sarah Vowell (Montana) and John Hodgman (Massachusetts). Make sure to look around the store while you’re there, because Book Court offers discounts on audiobooks, hardcovers, their best sellers and their book club selections.
