Just cause summer’s over doesn’t mean you have to end your weekend trips to the beach!  Today, go see Carnivolution! in Coney Island today.  You’ll find the Madoodi Mothers Puppet Peep show '“ a live puppet sex show sure to turn you on with '“ you betcha '“ 'œpoly-sexual hermaphrodites, trannies, ass-faced religious icons, menstruating monstrosities, infinite-nippled grandmas with lactating cats, and squirters galore.'  Musical Entertainment categorized as 'œScience Fiction Rock and Roll' featuring Jelly Boy and Matters band and the Radarman.  Go to the Museum and Unholy Sideshow and catch double feature screening of original works produced by Matters Squidling and Jelly Boy the Clown.  Great material for a first date.

I love, love graveyards.  So much history and so many stories!  Today Angels and Accordions, a FREE site-specific, live music and dance performance, will be guiding audience members through the Greenwood Cemetery’s lush hills and through its forest of sculptures and monuments.  With 30 dancers choreographed by Martha Bowers of Dance Theatre Etcetera, original music by Klucevsek and Goldberg played live by a band or accordions and singers, and a visual installation in the Catacombs designed by photographer Alexander Heilner, this will be a trip to the graveyard not to miss!  (Plus some tombs will be open to explore.)  If it rains Saturday, they will reschedule for Sunday Oct. 11th.

Sunday, 'œIn a Dream,' will be screening at Uniondocs.  'œIn a Dream' is a documentary about a world-renowned artist Isaiah Zagar and the 50,000-square feet of mosaics he creates in South Philadelphia for his wife Julia.  Promoted as 'œa fascinating portrait of love and betrayal, artistic invention, and the enduring power of family bonds,' the film has won plenty of awards and features the music of The Books, Explosions in the Sky, Efterklang, and Kelli Scarr.  If you like nervous breakdowns, cheating, volunteerism, bohemian life, rehab clinics, millions of tiny pieces of tile and mirror, this will be the film for you.  Director Jeremiah Zagar and Producers will lead a discussion after the screening.

Danielle Levanas - Bargain Soul Huntress

Danielle was raised by a pack of coyotes in the Los Angeles hills. Since arriving in NY in 2001, she has had any number of strange jobs, including back-up singing for JELVIS (the Jewish Elvis), starting the non-profit LYDIA, and writing political cabarets. A huge advocate for travel as a way of life, you can find her at the Brooklyn Public Library when her bank account is empty, fantasizing about where to head off to next.
