FLY, GIRL AND SO-LOW SHOW

Two infectious female comedians are debuting a brand new show in the West Village.   Tickets for the double bill cost only $10 and you get a FREE glass of wine with the cost of admission.  Plus, you are welcome to BYOB!  What’s not to love about that?!

But we can make it even better.  For you Broke-Asses, we are giving away a pair of tickets each night for shows on Thursdays Oct. 29, Nov. 5, and Nov. 12.  All you need to do is comment on this post telling us which night you want to see it! (The only thing that’s easier that that is finishing off a jar of Nutella.  I would know.  I just did.)  We’ll randomly pick three winners, one for each night.

Running for one month starting on October 22, Marra Herron and Brooke Van Poppelen are abandoning their regular haunts of Comix or Caroline’s on Broadway to present Fly, Girl and So-Low Show.  Directed by each other, this night will stretch the boundaries of comedy, delight your theatrical taste buds, and tickle you deep down where it hurts.

Fly, Girl
Mara Herron describes the trials and tribulations of pursuing her two passions: hip-hop dance and stand-up comedy. Fly, Girl explores her adventures waitressing at P. Diddy’s restaurant, an imagined bout with gout, strong sorority ties that come back to haunt her, and what it was like growing up with a Mexican housekeeper and Mormon boyfriend.

So-Low Show
Brooke Van Poppelen takes us on a tour of the absurd world where pilfering Lean Pockets on Christmas Eve, marrying (and eventually divorcing) a sworn enemy, and purposely losing her incumbent sixth grade spelling-bee championship title is normal, even justifiable behavior for a person without impulse control.

FLY, GIRL AND SO-LOW SHOW

Danielle Levanas - Bargain Soul Huntress

Danielle was raised by a pack of coyotes in the Los Angeles hills. Since arriving in NY in 2001, she has had any number of strange jobs, including back-up singing for JELVIS (the Jewish Elvis), starting the non-profit LYDIA, and writing political cabarets. A huge advocate for travel as a way of life, you can find her at the Brooklyn Public Library when her bank account is empty, fantasizing about where to head off to next.
