Portugal. The Man and Alberta Cross Play Governors Island

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Alaska has given us many things. No only has our northern frontier birthed an ass ton of professional hockey players, but it has also been called home by some of the greatest comedians of our time, most notably 2008 vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin.

Wasilla-born, Portland-Based rockers Portugal. The Man owe a lot to being from the least-densely populated state in our fair union. And they are paying it forward to you, dear broke-asses. As a part of the “Gone To Governors” Live Music Series Portugal. The Man will be bringing its special blend of peculiarly -punctuated psychedelic pop to a small island near you – for FREE.

As for openers, the band will be joined by the sounds of the Blues-tinged and mysteriously-anagramed natives Alberta Cross.

And this is all tomorrow, Saturday June 3rd. Doors open at 6 PM, show begins at 8 PM – but because its a FREE show, it might be a good idea to make your appearance fairly early.
