Things I like: drinking, drinking outside, drinking on the cheap, drinking with fellow-minded attractive single people. I tend to prefer bars where all of the above can happen, but finding a comfortable in-between is difficult. Usually bars that are super cheap are also lacking in atmosphere (which is, fine, whatever, but sometimes I want some goddamn ambiance) and bars with a great space and hot patrons are usually stuck up and expensive.
But Bushwick Country Club is different. It’s a dive, sure, but they put some thought into decor and they’ve got both a photo booth AND a great backyard featuring putt-putt. It’s not as intolerable as the Williamsburg bars that are closer to the water, and the drinks are pretty damn cheap – especially during happy hour, which runs ’till 8 and offers 2-for-1 on well, draft and wine.
They also have great beer-with-a-shot specials and give out free cheezballs to soak it all up.
