"Visitors" Discounts at Bloomingdale's and Macy's

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Usually, pretending to be a tourist in NYC is only good for a killer Halloween costume or trying to get a pass for something stupid you’ve done like not having enough cab fair. But at Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, it pays to be a “visitor.”

Folks with out of state drivers licenses can receive 10% discount passes from both of the NYC flagship stores – fashioned to help eliminate our hefty 8.75% tax. At Bloomingdale’s, the discount center is located on the balcony and gives out a one-day discount pass that can be renewed as often as you’d like.

At Macy’s, just head to the Visitor’s Center on the 7th floor for your five-day discount pass, also available for renewal as often as you need. This one will prove most beneficial if you’ve found yourself staring at a Macy’s bridal registry as much as I have in the last several months. I’ve also heard the store will combine this discount with additional sales going on – another tip is to check the Macy’s website for special “day of” coupons posted on the website. Savings this big almost make the walk through Herald Square to get there bearable!
