FREE Svedka for “Being Human” Series Premiere

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

If the Twilight series has taught us anything, and it has clearly taught us so, so much, it is that being a sexy vampire or werewolf is a terrible hardship that ironically gets you no sex whatsoever. Unless of course you’re a happily married vampire — then you can have as much sex as you want, because marriage is an institution vampires care so much about.

The exception to this rule is “True Blood,” during which vampires have tons of sex with whomever they want, in some cases rape-y, disgusting, violent sex.

So who are we to believe?? To get to the bottom of this, we obviously need more shows about vampires and werewolves. Thankfully the SyFy channel is addressing this very important issue with their new series “Being Human.” Based on the BBC comedy/drama of the same name, “Being Human” is about three teens — a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost — all rooming together and trying to make it in the city, kind of like a vampire-version of Rent.

To celebrate the series premiere, SyFy is hosting a party with FREE Svedka and some other random giveaways that are nowhere near as important as the vodka. RSVP here.

Katy B. - Economic Inexpert

Katy B. grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the home of Gerald R. Ford, Andy Richter, and, at one point, the guy who wrote Mr. Holland's Opus. She moved to NYC for her degree in library science, and is now in the Media Studies program at The New School. She hopes to one day be a film studies librarian. Ask her anything about Dewey Decimal – anything! – and she will roll her eyes because academic libraries use Library of Congress. Durrr.
