Watch World Records Made Live Tonight at Littlefield

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

“If you come and don’t have massive fun, FREE CHICKEN FINGERS ON US.” Well, now, I’m not going to say no to that, are you? That’s part of the self-assured invitation from the World Record Appreciation Society, who are gonna throw it down and create some legends (well, hopefully) tonight at Littlefield.

Hosted by co-founders of The Universal Record Database Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson, this is their Brooklyn debut and first live event of 2011. 10 world record attempts will be made live on stage by a collection of talent like Ben Greenman and John Donohue from The New Yorker, blogger Emily Spivack, 14-piece all-female, all-accordion orchestra The Main Squeeze Orchestra, and more.

As an added bonus, any time at the end of the night will be allocated to “open mic night,” so you can attempt your own world record of “worst poem about a cat” to a bunch of strangers.

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
