I have some great news for one lucky broke-ass and his/her broke-ass friend—you could win a pair of FREE tickets to go see the 4th Annual Vital Vox: A Vocal Festival later this month. But first, here’s some info on what this unique festival is all about.

Vital Vox is an event that focuses solely on the human voice. Whether in a solo setting or as a part of an ensemble, Vital Vox will explore the countless ways in which a voice can be used, and it will be displayed through a multitude of musical genres. Everything from jazz to interactive electro-acoustic music will be showcased during the two-day festivities.

The festival will take place on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th at the Roulette. General Admission for tickets will $15 ($10 for Students/Seniors/Members) and can be purchased at Roulette’s website HERE or by calling 917-267-0363.

The following is the program description for the event and the performers:

MONDAY, OCTOBER 29, 8pm

PHILIP HAMILTON – Vocalscapes: Solitude

Vocal explorer Philip Hamilton takes audiences on a journey of sounds using his voice, percussion and electronics. Hamilton, creator of the hit acapella show “VOICES”, uses vocal styles from across the globe to expand the imagination. (www.voicestheshow.blogspot.com)

Sabrina Lastman will be presenting excerpts from her original piece An Encounter with ‘El Duende’: a multidisciplinary music performance for voice, sound, bowed psaltery, megaphone, percussions & visuals. Enrique Grijalva - Mr. Minimum Wage

My father came, my mother saw...and I conquered. I encourage children to do drugs, I buy alcohol for teenagers, and I drink beer with the homeless. In my spare time, I attend art galleries for the FREE booze while rubbing elbows with modish elephants. I also hammer six-inch nails into small penises. Stuart knighted me as Broke-Ass King of New York. You've been warned.
