Joey-the-cat

Joey the Cat is a National Skeeball champion. Like for realsies. He’s even in the Brewski Ball Hall of Fame. So I’m honored to have him as Broke-Ass of the Week. Here’s what he has to say for himself:

After four and a half years living in San Francisco, I’ve fallen in love. This is the best city in the world and we know how to have fun. I’m such a fan of fun that I decided to start renting out Skeeball machines for parties, events and tournaments. I even went so far as to build a Skeeball trailer, it’s at SoMa StrEat Food Park. You can find out more at joeythecat.com Meow!

Now read below to get some insight into his life of brokeitude.

Name: Joey Mucha

Age: 26

Occupation: Skeeball Rental and Restoration Expert. Product Marketing at an Advertising Tech Startup

What neighborhood do you live in: Inner Mission

Best money saving tip: Setup a recurring deposit into a savings account. It will become a part of your budget. Just kidding, become friends with your favorite bar tenders.

What do you refuse to spend money on?: Dessert at restaurants, they’re way over-priced. Buy a half-gallon of ice cream instead. Half the price and quadruple the fun.

Most expensive thing you’ve ever bought: My scooter.

How’d that feel?: Liberating. Wind in your hair. Parking is a breeze. See the city from a new angle.

Favorite cheap eat: Super baby burrito from La Corneta. It’s a great value and the perfect sized burrito.

Favorite dive bar: Delirium. Drinks. Dancing. Video Games. Pool. Perfect.

Best deal you’ve ever gotten: $200 off my Mission bicycle. My previous bike was stolen and they sent me a “sorry for your loss” card.

Favorite free thing to do: Window shop on Valencia St, especially Paxton’s Gate.

If you woke up a millionaire, what’s the first thing you’d buy?: The taxidermied Tiger from Paxton’s Gate.

Despite not having money, do you still love your life?: Absolutely!

Do you own my book?: Yeah boyyyyyyyyyyy!

Best hangover cure: Chef’s mess at St. Francis Fountain

Are you a hipster?: Sometimes.
