Tamale Lady's Birthday on Monday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I totally forgot about this until I saw it on Laughing Squid yesterday.  The Tamale Lady is the godmother of San Francisco’s street food scene.  She’s been slanging her wares for close to 15 years and they are as good as ever.  But she’s more than just a lady selling tamales, she a San Francisco folk hero and a dispenser of sound advice.

You should totally come out on Monday night to Zeitgeist to celebrate her birthday.  It’s always a lot of fun and each year Cecil D. Feeder shows his Tamale Lady documentary called Our Lady of Tamale.  Plus, there will be plenty of tamales.
