FREE Dance Classes All Day at Rhythm & Motion on 12/30

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I posted this a few weeks ago but figured I’d repost it since it’s happening tomorrow.  Go dance off some of those holiday calories!

I’m more of a drinker than a dancer, but I’ve been known to get down every once in awhile.  Like If I’m out and some James Brown come on, you know I’ll be doing my thing on the dance floor.  But I know some of you look at dance in afar different light than me and that’s why I’m hipping you to Rhythm & Motion’s 30th Anniversary Bash.

On December 30th, R&M will be doing dope events all day long at the ODC Dance Commons.  I was gonna try to paraphrase all the events but the press release does a better job than I would, so here’s what it says:

The day begins with two team-taught all-star master classes, Modern Rhythms from 10:30a.m.-12p.m. and Fusion Rhythms from 12-1:30pm, and continues with introductory 30-minute dance workout classes on the hour from 10a.m.-1p.m. as well as global dance classes in Salsa, Afro-Brazilian, Mexican Folkloric, Tribal Belly Dance and more offered throughout the day.

At 7pm, a performance by Rhythm & Motion teachers will show a whole new side to their gifted dancing, with a pre-show reception at 5:30pm. The day-long dance bash will conclude with a DJ dance party presented in partnership with Horizons Unlimited/The DJ Project from 9pm-12am.

Schedule
10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm: 30-min Intro R&M Dance Workout Class

12-1:30pm Fusion Rhythms Master Class

See this website isn’t only about drinking and eating…just mostly.
